Last Saturday we notices that Marshall, the new guy (7 month old Dalmatian puppy) was not feeling well. He had a runny nose (think snotty nose to be more exact) and a nasty cough. Because Marshall is new to our family, we assumed these symptoms were due to the vaccine he had received a week earlier for ‘Kennel Cough’ and expected that by Sunday morning we’d again have a happy and playful puppy. Unfortunately, on Sunday he seemed worse and we added lethargy as a symptom. On Monday morning he was no better, and we could add fever to the … this spot continues

He’s Here!
Yesterday we drove to Virginia to meet my new brother Marshall. He was found running free in Marshall, Kentucky and his original owners didn’t want him back so he was rescued by Dalmatian Rescue of Southwest Virginia. We adopted him and picked him up yesterday. After a few minutes of getting to know each other we become friends and this morning, we’ve been wrestling for hours. I even taught him how to play tug with a rope. He’s a quick learner! Thought I would post up some pictures of my snow day That’s a photo of me running for my favorite toy (a squeaky bowling pin). Successfully retrieved the bowling pin (even though I am not a retriever - hence the spots) One of my favorite games is to bury the Bowling Pin in the snow…. and then try to find it again! … this spot continues
What’s that smell?
Our strongest sense is our sense of smell. Certain smells can remind us of past situations. They can also have therapeutic effects. Some scents relax, or motivate or even have physical health benefits. A dog’s sense of smell is over 1,000 times stronger than ours. Using aromatherapy for your dogs can be a safe and effective way to promote either physical or mental healing for your best friend. Essential oils are extracted from a variety of plants, flowers, stems, roots, leaves or bark. Each oil, aside from it’s great smell, has properties that will benefit you and your dog.
